SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) announced Monday that the forward trio of Mason Svarich (Timmins Rock); Daniel Vasic (Blind River Beavers) and Aiden Kalin (Hearst Lumberjacks) have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending March 3.
MASON SVARICH, (F) TIMMINS ROCK: Collecting eight points in a trio of Timmins’ triumphs during the time frame, Svarich tallied twice, including notching a game-winner, and dished out six assists along the way.
The 20-year-old from Stony Plain, Alta., is also riding a five-game point streak, which has helped him reach 65 in total in 33 goals and 62 helpers.
Two contests shy of 100 in his NOJHL career, Svarich has 21 multi-point performances so far this season.
DANIEL VASIC, (F) BLIND RIVER BEAVERS: Continuing his torrid offensive pace, Vasic racked up another 10 points last week, helping Blind River go 2-0-0-1 during a three-game road trip.
Featured in the efforts for the 17-year-old from Newmarket, Ont., were back-to-back hat tricks in a pair of wins.
Etching him name on the game sheet in eight straight match-ups, Vasic has only been held pointless twice in his first 32 games on the campaign.
AIDEN KALIN, (F) HEARST LUMBERJACKS: Picking up five points over the weekend, Kalin’s efforts helped Hearst notch a pair of home-ice victories.
Highlighting the contributions for the 19-year-old Calgary, Alta., product was picking up his initial NOJHL hat trick.
A point-per-game performer with the Lumberjacks, Kalin has 46 in as many appearances with 22 markers and 24 assists. He’ll enter play this week sporting a six-game point streak.
