Lumberjacks’ Golant & Arkle; Thunderbirds’ Theriault tabbed Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that forwards Bradley Golant and Blaise Arkle of the Hearst Lumberjacks, as well as Lucas Theriault of the Soo Thunderbirds, have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending March 31.

BRADLEY GOLANT, (F) HEARST LUMBERJACKS – The 20-year-old from Lakeville, Minn., produced five points last week for the Lumberjacks in helping his side reel off four wins in as many outings.

In all, Arkle notched three markers, highlighted by the game-winning goal in overtime Sunday night, as Hearst edged Powassan for a second straight contest to take a 2-0 series lead in the best-of-seven East final.

He is presently playing at over a point-per-game pace in the NOJHL playoffs with 10 in nine contests on a trio of tallies and seven assists, which ties him for fifth among all league skaters in the postseason.

LUCAS THERIAULT, (F) SOO THUNDERBIRDS – An offensive force all-year long for his hometown Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., side, Theriault continues to click in the playoffs.

Last week saw the 19-year-old contribute points in each of the four games the Thunderbirds had.

Theriault notched four markers and doled out three assists for his squad and now sits tied for third in the NOJHL in playoff goals with seven and is knotted for fifth in overall production.

In 59 combined games this season, he has scored 47 times to pace all league players.

BLAISE ARKLE, (F) HEARST LUMBERJACKS – Etching his name on the scoresheet in all four of Hearst’s victories last week, Arkle contributed in a big way to his club’s success.

With tallies in three straight and with multiple assists, including one on the overtime winner in Game 1 vs. Powassan, the now 21-year-old Winnipeg, Man., product collected five points in all during the time frame.

Arkle is also sporting a four-game point streak heading into Wednesday’s road match-up vs. the Voodoos.
