HEARST, Ont. – The Timmins Rock duo of Cameron Dutkiewicz and Riley Brousseau combined for six points as part of a 5-1 victory over the Hearst Lumberjacks Friday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League match-up at the Claude Larose Recreation Centre.

Hearst did open the scoring eight and a half minutes into the proceedings as Raphael Lajeunesse provided his 10th tally of the season as he banged in a chance from in close thanks to the efforts of teammates Zachary Demers and Cody Walker.

Timmins answered a couple of shifts later while on the power play with Tyler Gilberds finishing off some crisp passing, including a cross-ice set-up from Tyler Patterson.

Heading to the middle session, the Rock would strike twice to take a 3-1 edge into the second intermission.

Dutkiewicz got the first one half way through the frame as ripped one from just inside the blueline through a screen with his club up a skater.

He then helped Justin Charette convert from close range who went top shelf from in tight after a Dutkiewicz point blast at 14:20.

Moving to the final stanza, Timmins added some insurance half way through the third compliments of Tanner Hamilton as he picked off a clearing attempt and walked into a one-timer that he cranked past Hearst goalkeeper Liam Oxner.

The Rock then completed the road decision in the back half of the frame off the stick of Henry Brock as he scooped up a Dutkiewicz shot on net and cut right and tucked in the night’s last goal with 6:36 to go.

Making 23 saves helped Timmins’ Gavin McCarthy get the win while Oxner saw 38 attempts put his way in defeat.
