HEARST, Ont. – Morgan Scriber picked up his first two goals of the season Sunday to help highlight a 4-2 Hearst Lumberjacks victory over the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League action at Claude Larose Arena.
Scriber got the Scriber going two minutes into the contest while Maxix Lacroix collected his initial NOJHL tally at 13:08 as he converted during a Hearst power play chance.
From there it remained tight-checking until the late going of the middle stanza when the two sides struck for three tallies in a 49-second span.
Scriber made it 3-0 at the 18-minute mark of the session only to see Kirkland Lake pot two quick efforts after that from Tyler Fyfe, with his 10th, before Jake Semmens supplied his first.
Heading into the third Max Griffioen put the Lumberjacks back up by two earlier in the session in what was the final goal of the evening.
Wade Auger and Austin Anselmo picked up two assists apiece to aid the Hearst offensive cause.
Nicholas Dube made 16 saves to record the win while Ryan Winter faced 41 attempts in defeat for the Gold Miners.
