SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Friday the game schedule for its upcoming championship series between the Soo Thunderbirds and the Hearst Lumberjacks.
All contests in the best-of-seven affair are scheduled to have 7 p.m. starts.
Action will commence Sunday at GFL Memorial Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., with the series opener.
The Thunderbirds will also host Game 2, which goes Monday, also back at GFL Memorial Gardens.
From there, the series will shift to the Claude Larose Recreation Centre in Hearst for Games 3 & 4, which will be held Thursday, May 5 and Friday, May 6.
Should a fifth contest in the match-up be required, it will be held Sunday, May 8, back in the Soo at the John Rhodes Community Centre.
If a sixth meeting is necessary, it is slated for Tuesday, May 10 in Hearst.
Then, should the best-of-seven affair go the distance, Game 7 would be held Thursday, May 12 in Sault Ste. Marie at John Rhodes.
The league champion will then advance to represent the NOJHL at the Centennial Cup, presented by Tim Hortons, May 19-29, in Estevan, Sask.
