HEARST, ON – Jacob Lamoureux scored twice including an empty netter as the visiting Kirkland Lake Gold Miners upset the Hearst Lumberjacks 4-1 at the Claude Larose Recreation Centre Friday night.
The Lumberjacks got on the board first on the power play as Liam Boswell netted his 16th which made it 1-0 near the midway point of the first.
The Gold Miners evened things up just over 6 minutes into the second as Jacob Lamoureux put home his 11th to make it 1-1.
The visiting Gold Miners then took the lead late in the second period when Noah Woodward got his 18th at 19:52.
Gold Miners goaltender Graydon Mole continued to keep the Lumberjacks off the scoresheet in the third, and the Gold Miners added a pair of empty net tallies by Inde Abresch and Lamoureux.
Mole stopped 36 of 37 Lumberjacks shots for the victory.
The win improves the Gold Miners record to 8-28-4-1 while the Lumberjacks fall to 21-12-3-2.
