Beavers’ Peck; Lumberjacks’ Tallarico; Canadians’ Krassey named Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week

SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Blind River Beavers forward Ryan Peck, goaltender Nicholas Tallarico of the Hearst Lumberjacks and forward Evan Krassey of the Rayside-Balfour Canadians have been named its Eastlink TV 3 Stars of the Week for the period ending March 24.

RYAN PECK, (F) BLIND RIVER BEAVERS – In a trio of outings last week, the 20-year-old Wakefield, Que., product had goals and points in each of them for Blind River in their hotly-contested series with the No. 1 seeded Soo Thunderbirds.

Peck has yet to be held off the score sheet in the 2019 league playoffs to date as he leads all NOJHL skaters in postseason production with 14 points on seven tallies and as many assists during his seven-game point streak.

NICHOLAS TALLARICO, (G) HEARST LUMBERJACKS – The NOJHL MVP was formidable between the pipes for Hearst giving the Lumberjacks every opportunity in their East Division semifinal match-up with the Timmins Rock.

The three starts he made for his club during the time frame saw the 21-year-old from Vancouver, B.C., make 109 saves on 116 shots for a solid .940 save percentage while registering a 1.91 goals-against average as Hearst heads into Game 6 tonight in Timmins.

EVAN KRASSEY, (F) RAYSIDE-BALFOUR CANADIANS – The Rayside-Balfour captain tallied in each of his three outings with the Canadians last week in their best-of-seven with the Soo Eagles.

This included his first-ever overtime game-winner in Game 3 as well as a shorthanded marker in the following contest and a pair of tallies in Sunday’s Game 5 setback in OT.

The 20-year-old, who hails from Atikokan, Ont., is presently riding a five-game point streak for Rayside-Balfour as they gear up for Game 6 vs. the Eagles Tuesday evening at Pullar Stadium in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
